The Domaine Jean Claude Rateau, founded in 1979, is a pioneer in biodynamic viticulture in Burgundy. Jean Claude Rateau started with 2 hectares of family vines, gradually expanding his estate to 8 hectares thanks to the trust of various owners. Committed from the beginning to environmentally friendly viticulture, he has been adopting biodynamic practices for 30 years, certified organic by Ecocert. With 15 plots on 12 terroirs, he vinifies each lot to obtain expressive wines that offer immediate pleasure from bottling.

The Gevrey-Chambertin Rouge 2022 from Domaine Jean Claude Rateau is an AOC red wine made from Pinot Noir planted on an islet of brown limestone. Produced from very old vines over 50 years old, this wine is hand-harvested and macerated for 21 days in an open vat with gentle punch-downs. Aged for 18 months in old oak barrels on fine lees, it features a ruby robe and offers aromas of ripe red fruits, currant jelly, sweet spices, with a silky and airy structure.
