The Gevrey-Chambertin Rouge 2022 is an emblematic wine of the appellation, born from very old vines over 50 years old planted on brown limestone soil. Hand-harvested, the grapes are macerated for 21 days with gentle punch-downs for a delicate extraction. The aging process of 18 months in oak barrels (without new barrels) on fine lees imparts the wine with a beautiful aromatic complexity and a silky texture. Its brilliant ruby robe and aromas of ripe red fruits, redcurrant jelly, and sweet spices are a delight for the senses.
The nose reveals captivating notes of ripe red fruits and redcurrant jelly, punctuated by hints of sweet spices. On the palate, the wine is elegant, with a silky texture and an airy structure, offering a beautiful length.
The Gevrey-Chambertin Rouge 2022 pairs perfectly with meat dishes such as beef bourguignon, duck breast, or grilled meats. It also wonderfully accompanies aged cheeses such as Comté or Reblochon.
