Description
Savigny-Les-Beaune Red 2022 from Domaine Chapuis & Chapuis
The brothers Romain and Jean-Guillaume Chapuis, from a family line rooted in Burgundy viticulture, launched the "Chapuis Frères" estate in 2009 in Pommard. With 4 hectares of vines and purchases of often organic grapes, their range includes Savigny les Beaune, Chorey les Beaune and Pernand-Vergelesses. Following the success, they moved to Ladoix, adopting a low-intervention approach, favouring indigenous yeasts and limiting the use of sulphur and oak barrels. The wines, harvested by hand, are distinguished by their aromatic freshness and immediate drinkability, reflecting the Burgundy terroir.
The Savigny-Les-Beaune Red 2022 from Domaine Chapuis & Chapuis perfectly illustrates the know-how of brothers Jean-Guillaume and Romain Chapuis. This cuvée is a remarkable introduction to their style, which is characterized by a natural and minimal approach to oenological intervention. By using natural yeasts and almost zero doses of sulphur, they highlight the purity of the fruit and the terroir. Mainly made from whole bunches, where the grapes are macerated and fermented with the stem, this Savigny les Beaune stands out for its fragrant and velvety character. This winemaking method reveals subtle vegetal aromas, in perfect harmony with the 2022 vintage, marked by its warmth and sunshine. After 11 months of ageing in oak barrels, this vintage is now revealing itself with expressiveness and aromatic richness. Notes of black cherry, undergrowth, blood orange, blackberry and spice unfold brilliantly in this juicy and vibrant wine. It offers a captivating sensory experience from the tasting.
