Description

Corton-Charlemagne Blanc Grand Cru 2021 | Wine from Domaine Chapuis Frères

The Domaine Chapuis Frères was founded in 2009 by Romain and Jean-Guillaume Chapuis, two brothers from a lineage of Burgundian winemakers. Based in Ladoix, after starting their business in Pommard, the two brothers now cultivate 4 hectares of vines with a philosophy that respects the terroir. They favor low-intervention practices, using indigenous yeasts, limiting the use of sulfur, and reducing oak barrels to preserve the purity of aromas. The estate is committed to offering wines harvested by hand and often made from organic grapes, perfectly reflecting the richness and diversity of the Burgundy terroir. Their respectful approach and attention to detail are evident in every bottle, combining modernity and tradition.

The Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru 2021 is one of the jewels of Domaine Chapuis Frères. This Grand Cru Chardonnay is produced in very small quantities (only two barrels per vintage when conditions allow), making it a rare and prestigious wine. It is distinguished by its aromatic richness and impressive structure.

On the nose, it offers intense aromas of ripe white fruits like pear and peach, mixed with notes of quince, apricot, and honey. On the palate, the attack is ample and generous, revealing flavors of stone fruits and subtle nuances of minerality, a signature of the great terroirs of the Côte de Beaune. The texture is silky, with a beautiful freshness that balances the wine's natural power.

Its long and complex finish reveals a superb potential for aging, making it an ideal wine to keep in the cellar for several years. This Corton-Charlemagne is a great wine for aging but can also be enjoyed now for its immediate drinkability, especially as a companion to gourmet meals.
