Description
Bouzeron Blanc 2021 | Wine from Domaine Chapuis & Chapuis
The Domaine Chapuis & Chapuis is a family venture driven by two brothers, Romain and Jean-Guillaume Chapuis, originally from Aloxe-Corton, a renowned wine village. Passionate about gastronomy, wine, and terroir, they founded their estate in 2009, in Pommard, with the aim of producing characterful wines, true to their vision and love for Burgundy.
The Bouzeron is a unique appellation, as it is the only one in Burgundy that can exclusively produce wines from the Aligoté grape variety.
The Bouzeron Blanc 2021 from Domaine Chapuis & Chapuis is made from the Aligoté grape, an ancient variety in Burgundy, known for its vigor and slightly larger grapes compared to Chardonnay. This Bouzeron 2021 highlights the golden version of Aligoté, whose grapes, under the sun's influence, develop a golden hue and a beautiful balance between acidity and alcohol.
This wine displays a pale gold color, while its subtle nose evokes aromas of acacia, white flowers, and citrus, enhanced by a mineral touch (flint, gunstone). On the palate, it reveals a lively roundness, with a structured body and a gourmet freshness, showcasing the typicity of the Aligoté grape on the Bouzeron terroir.
- Color: Pale gold.
- Nose: Floral (acacia, white flowers), citrus with a mineral note.
- Palate: Roundness, structured body, liveliness, and freshness. Mineral finish (flint).
The Bouzeron Blanc 2021 is an ideal choice to accompany seafood, especially oysters, whose minerality it enhances with its iodized freshness. It also pairs perfectly with shellfish and white meats (veal, poultry in white or creamy sauce). It is also recommended with mushroom risottos, whose creamy texture harmonizes beautifully with the wine's roundness.
For a traditional Burgundy aperitif, serve this Bouzeron with gougères or starters such as parsley ham. It also pairs very well with a variety of cheeses, like goat cheese, comté, beaufort, or cîteaux.
