Founded in 1831, the Maison Albert Bichot is an essential reference in the Burgundy vineyard. Located in Beaune, this family-owned house has built a reputation for excellence thanks to its respect for terroirs and its commitment to sustainable viticultural practices. Since the 2000s, the house has turned to organic farming, thus respecting the natural balance of the soil and vines. Today, under the leadership of Albéric Bichot, the house continues to embody the elegance and authenticity of Burgundy wines.
The Beaune Rouge "Clos de l'Ermitage" 2018 is an emblematic wine of the Beaune appellation. It comes from the Clos de l'Ermitage plot, a unique terroir located on the Montagne St-Désiré. This vineyard, set on clay-limestone soils, allows the Pinot Noir to express itself with remarkable finesse, combining power and elegance. Manual harvesting and traditional winemaking ensure the exceptional quality of this vintage. Aging in oak barrels for 14 to 16 months, with 20 to 30% new barrels, brings subtle aromas of wood and toast while respecting the purity of the fruit.
The Beaune Rouge "Clos de l'Ermitage" 2018 offers a complex nose dominated by aromas of cherry, raspberry, and ripe red fruits, accompanied by subtle nuances of smoke and toast. As it evolves, notes of leather and undergrowth appear, enriching the aromatic bouquet. On the palate, this wine is distinguished by its silky texture, fine tannins, and beautiful structure. The minerality of the terroir brings freshness and a persistent length on the finish.
The Beaune Rouge "Clos de l'Ermitage" 2018 pairs perfectly with red or white meat dishes, such as roasted lamb racks, veal chops, or braised chicken. It also goes very well with medium-aged cheeses like Reblochon or Comté. For optimal tasting, serve it at a temperature of 15-16°C.
