Description
Monthélie Red "Château de Dracy" 2018 | Wine from Domaine Albert Bichot
LA MAISON Albert Bichot, founded in 1831 by Bernard Bichot in Monthélie, has established itself in the Burgundy wine world. The family heritage dates back to 1214 in Châteauneuf-en-Auxois. Under Albert Bichot I, it moved to Beaune in 1912, beginning an international expansion. The following generations modernised the infrastructure and conquered new markets. Albéric Bichot, since 1996, has been directing la maison towards sustainable viticultural practices, switching to organic farming in the 2000s. Committed to the preservation of the environment, la maison supports marine research and the protection of the climats of Burgundy. Culturally, it promotes literature, music and les arts through various events. LA MAISON Albert Bichot values local know-how and authenticity, while preserving the natural balance of the Burgundy terroirs.
The Monthélie Red "Château de Dracy" 2018, a wine from Domaine Albert Bichot, is an appellation located in Burgundy, on brown clay-limestone soils. Made from 100% Pinot Noir grape variety, this wine reveals a beautiful fruit and a fine structure characteristic of its terroir. The vinification includes manual harvesting and fermentation maceration in temperature-controlled wooden vats, followed by ageing in oak barrels for 14 to 16 months. On the nose, it offers a very fruity bouquet with notes of black berries and plum, while the palate is fleshy, full-bodied and relatively powerful, with a long fragrant finish. It is recommended to serve it at 15-16°C and it can be stored for 3 to 5 years, or even longer. It goes perfectly with roasted or braised red and white meats, as well as medium-bodied cheeses.
