Champagne Extra-Brut "741" D.T | Wine from Maison Jacquesson
The Maison Jacquesson, founded in 1798 in Dizy, is one of the historical references of Champagne. Acquired in 1974 by the Chiquet family, it is now managed by Laurent and Jean-Hervé Chiquet, who have instilled a unique style: low dosage, intensity, and absolute fidelity to the terroir. Its vineyard of 28 hectares, located in Avize, Aÿ, Dizy, and Hautvillers, is complemented by regular, rigorously selected supplies. Each year, the house names its Non-Vintage Brut (BSA) with a number (738, 739, etc.), an original approach allowing to enhance the expression of the base vintage.
The Champagne Extra-Brut "741" D.T is made from a 2013 base vintage, representing 90% of the estate's production. It benefits from prolonged aging on lees to gain complexity and depth. Vinified in wood, without malolactic fermentation, it reveals a pure and mineral expression of the Champagne terroir.
Appearance: Pale gold with silver reflections, fine and persistent bubbles.
Nose: Precise and elegant, with notes of citrus, white flowers, and roasted hazelnut, accompanied by a chalky touch.
Palate: Straight and tense, marked by a vibrant freshness and a beautiful mineral structure. The finish is long, saline, and lingering.
The Champagne Extra-Brut "741" D.T is ideally enjoyed as an aperitif with refined appetizers such as oysters, sea bream tartare, or gougères with Comté cheese. It also pairs wonderfully with fine dishes, such as a carpaccio of scallops with citrus or a grilled sea bass fillet with fresh herbs.
