The Domaine Jean Claude Rateau, founded in 1979, embodies the Burgundian heritage and commitment to sustainable viticulture. With its 8 hectares under cultivation, Jean-Claude Rateau has been a pioneer of biodynamics for over 30 years, certified by Ecocert. Collaborating with renowned researchers like Claude Bourguignon, he ensures the preservation of the richness of the terroirs.
The Côte-De-Beaune Blanc "Clos De La Grande Châtelaine" 2023 comes from old vines of chardonnay, pinot blanc, pinot beurot, and pinot gris. These grape varieties are cultivated on a clay-limestone terroir according to biodynamic principles. The harvest, entirely manual, is followed by fermentations with indigenous yeasts and aging in oak barrels of several wines.
This wine offers a powerful nose and complex aromas, characterized by brioche, buttery notes, hints of acacia flowers, toasted notes, and flint. On the palate, it captivates with its voluptuous texture and an aromatic palette true to the nose. The finish is distinguished by a beautiful minerality and great length.
Ideal for pairing with delicate fish, roasted poultry, or mature cheeses. This wine is perfect for immediate enjoyment and can beautifully evolve over 10 years.
