Burgundy Aligoté White "Aligato" 2022 | Wine from Domaine La Soufrandière

The La Soufrandière estate is located in Vinzelles, in the south of Burgundy in the Mâconnais, founded by the paternal grandfather in 1947. All the vines are between 33 and 80 years old and are located in the east, south-east, in the middle and top of the hillside, made of very red clay and limestone known as "à entroques", dating back more than 180 million years. The choice of soil life and natural rhythms: The "Bret Brothers" have chosen Organic and Biodynamic Farming since taking over the estate in 2000. This agriculture that respects life, which uses no herbicides or synthetic pesticides, seems to them to be the way to produce balanced, vibrant wines that reveal their terroir. The estate has been certified organic and biodynamic since 2006 (official conversion in 2003).

The 2022 Bourgogne Aligoté Blanc "Aligato" from Domaine La Soufrandière is nicknamed "the other white of Burgundy", from vines recently acquired in 2016. Grown on only 0.3 hectares facing east, at the foot of the Roche de Vergisson at an altitude of 300 metres, this wine benefits from a clay-limestone terroir. It is vinified in demi-muids, thus offering a distinctive micro-production. With a 4-year ageing potential, this wine promises a unique expression of the Aligoté grape variety, typical of the region.
