Description

Pouilly-Vinzelles Blanc "Les Quarts" 2022 | Wine from Domaine la Soufrandière

The Domaine La Soufrandière is a family-owned estate located in Vinzelles, at the heart of Mâconnais, in southern Burgundy. Founded in 1947 by the paternal grandfather of the current owners, this estate is recognized for its environmentally friendly practices. Since 2000, the Bret brothers, nicknamed the Bret Brothers, have chosen to convert the estate to Organic and Biodynamic Agriculture. In 2006, the estate received its official certification, marking a strong commitment to sustainable viticultural practices. The vines, aged 33 to 80 years, benefit from an ideal exposure, located on east and southeast facing slopes, on soils rich in red clay and limestone.

The Pouilly-Vinzelles "Les Quarts" 2022 is an exceptional wine, from a 2-hectare plot, recognized as one of the greatest terroirs of the Pouilly-Vinzelles appellation. The vineyard is planted on clay-limestone soils dating back over 180 million years, offering a rich and vibrant terroir. The old Chardonnay vines, aged 45 to 80 years, give birth to a wine with exceptional aging potential. The terroir is enhanced by a vinification carefully orchestrated by the Bret Brothers, following the principles of organic and biodynamic agriculture.

The Pouilly-Vinzelles Blanc "Les Quarts" 2022 reveals a lemony and mineral nose, typical of its terroir. On the palate, this wine offers a beautiful balance between freshness and complexity, with notes of white fruits and marked minerality. Its length on the palate is remarkable, offering persistent aromas that evolve over the years. This wine, capable of aging, gains complexity over time, offering more intense and subtle flavors after a few years in the cellar.

This Pouilly-Vinzelles 2022 pairs perfectly with dishes such as roast poultry, fish stew, fine charcuterie, apple tart, as well as soft cheeses.

These pairings reveal the subtle aromas of the wine and highlight its freshness and complexity.
