Description

Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru Blanc 2021, wine from Domaine Chapuis Frères

Brothers Romain and Jean-Guillaume Chapuis, who come from a family line rooted in Burgundy viticulture, launched the "Chapuis Frères" estate in 2009 in Pommard. With 4 hectares of vines and purchases of often organic grapes, their range includes Savigny les Beaune, Chorey les Beaune and Pernand-Vergelesses. Following the success, they moved to Ladoix, adopting a low-intervention approach, favouring indigenous yeasts and limiting the use of sulphur and oak barrels. The wines, harvested by hand, are distinguished by their aromatic freshness and their immediate drinkability, reflecting the Burgundian terroir.

Domaine Chapuis Frères's 2021 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru Blanc embodies excellence in its category. Proposed by Romain and Jean-Guillaume Chapuis, young winemakers with a centuries-old tradition, this wine embodies the perfect marriage between the distinctive strength of the Grand Cru and Romain Chapuis' delicate approach to winemaking. This Chardonnay offers an XXL-sized experience, where generous notes of ripe white fruit intertwine harmoniously with nuances of honey, quince and apricot. Its natural power suggests a remarkable ageing potential, making this wine a prized rarity (only two pieces produced when the vintage allows it), testifying to its unique character and undeniable prestige.
