Description
PlouPlou Rouge 2022 | Wine from Domaine Crotet Maxime
The Domaine Maxime Crotet is led by a young, passionate, and committed winemaker, Maxime Crotet. After training for nearly ten years with Frédéric Cossard, an emblematic figure in natural winemaking in Burgundy, Maxime decided to launch his own estate in 2021. He set up his winery in Beaune and, not yet having his own vineyard, embarked on a trading activity by sourcing from winegrowers who share his values. All his grapes come from organic and environmentally friendly agriculture. This approach perfectly aligns with his philosophy of natural, minimalist, and non-interventionist winemaking.
The PlouPlou Rouge 2022 is a wine made with grapes harvested in Poligny in the Jura, from Poulsard, a grape variety rarely cultivated outside Jura, but which here expresses all its freshness and drinkability. This wine is light, fruity, and ideal for natural wine enthusiasts. Maxime Crotet chose to vinify naturally, without unnecessary additives, allowing the grape variety to fully express its subtle aromas of red fruits and its silky texture.
The PlouPlou Rouge 2022 stands out for its lightness and freshness. It's an easy-to-drink wine that doesn't lack character, while remaining pleasant and convivial. With its 12.5% alcohol content, it fits into the trend of low-alcohol wines that remain tasty and balanced.
- Color: Light red, almost translucent, typical of Poulsard.
- Nose: Aromas of fresh red fruits, like raspberry and cherry, with light spicy touches.
- Palate: Fresh, light, with subtle and soft tannins. Beautiful acidity that brings dynamism to the wine.
- Finish: Lively and tasty, with a pleasant aromatic persistence.

It pairs particularly well with white meats, like grilled chicken or pork, but also with red meats like lamb. For cheese lovers, this wine is an excellent companion to mild cheeses as well as strong cheeses like Roquefort.
