Beaune Rouge 1er Cru "Les Bressandes" 2021 | Wine from Domaine Berthelemot
The Domaine Berthelemot, founded in 2006 by Brigitte Berthelemot, stands out for its respectful management of the soil and viticultural traditions. Located in Meursault, at the heart of the Côte de Beaune, the estate covers about 15 hectares, encompassing prestigious appellations such as Meursault, Puligny-Montrachet, Chassagne-Montrachet, Pommard, and Beaune. Since 2021, the vineyards have been certified in organic farming, reflecting the estate's commitment to biodynamics and environmental preservation. With the arrival of her son Thomas in 2017, the estate has enhanced its expertise while respecting ancestral methods.
The Beaune Rouge 1er Cru "Les Bressandes" 2021 comes from the specific site Les Bressandes, an exceptional terroir with ferrous, sandy, and stony soil. The plot, facing southeast with a slope of 10 to 15%, provides an ideal exposure for the maturation of Pinot Noir. The harvest, done by hand, is followed by aging in oak barrels, giving the wine aromas of vine, violet, and dark fruits, with slightly toasted notes. On the palate, this vintage is characterized by its power, breadth, and delicately fruity and slightly salty finish.
- Nose: Aromas of violet, dark fruits (blackberry, blackcurrant), with a touch of roasting.
- Palate: Powerful and ample wine, with notes of ripe fruits and a subtly salty finish.
- Serving temperature: 15-16°C. It is advisable to decant the wine before tasting, especially for young vintages.
This Beaune Rouge 1er Cru "Les Bressandes" 2021 pairs perfectly with dishes in sauce like beef bourguignon, grilled or roasted red meats, as well as soft cheeses like brie or camembert.
