Description
Chambolle-Musigny Rouge 2022 | Wine from Domaine Berthelemot
The Domaine Berthelemot, founded in 2006 by Brigitte Berthelemot, is inspired by family winemaking traditions and respect for the soil. Located in Meursault, this family estate operates 15 hectares in Côte de Beaune, covering prestigious appellations such as Meursault, Puligny-Montrachet, Chassagne-Montrachet, Pommard, and Beaune. Since the arrival of her son Thomas in 2017, the estate has gained new momentum. The wines, certified organic since 2021, reflect the estate's commitment to biodynamics and environmental respect.
The Chambolle-Musigny Rouge 2022 from Domaine Berthelemot comes from the lieux-dits Les Chardannes, Les Combottes, and Les Bas-Doix. Les Chardannes are named after the thistles that once invaded the plot, Les Combottes refer to a hollow terrain, and Les Bas-Doix, meaning "watercourse," is well-drained. The soil of Les Chardannes is clayey and deep, while at Les Bas-Doix it is thinner and rocky. Composed of 100% Pinot Noir, this wine is hand-harvested and aged in oak barrels. It reveals a fruity nose with wild notes and a dense palate with finely roasted aromas, offering a beautiful persistence. Serve at 15-16°C, decanting is recommended for young vintages.
