Description
Chambolle-Musigny Rouge 2022 | Wine from Domaine Berthelemot
Domaine Berthelemot, founded in 2006 by Brigitte Berthelemot, is located in Meursault, at the heart of the Côte de Beaune. This family estate cultivates 15 hectares of vineyards, covering prestigious appellations such as Meursault, Puligny-Montrachet, Chassagne-Montrachet, Pommard, and Beaune. Since the arrival of Thomas Berthelemot in 2017, the estate has experienced a dynamic renewal, with particular attention to biodynamics and soil respect. Certified organic since 2021, Domaine Berthelemot combines traditional expertise with modernity to produce wines of great finesse.
The Chambolle-Musigny Rouge 2022 is made from grapes sourced from three specific plots: Les Chardannes, Les Combottes, and Les Bas-Doix. The first, named after the thistles that once grew on the plot, has a deep clay soil. Les Bas-Doix, characterized by its stony soil, offers excellent natural drainage. This 100% Pinot Noir wine is hand-harvested and aged in oak barrels, adding complexity and balance to its aromas.
The Chambolle-Musigny 2022 reveals a fruity nose with notes of wild red and black fruits. On the palate, it presents a dense texture with finely roasted aromas, highlighted by a beautiful acidity. The finish is long, with elegant persistence, hinting at an interesting aging potential.
This wine pairs perfectly with grilled red meats, game, as well as aged cheeses like Comté or Beaufort. It is recommended to serve it at a temperature of 15-16°C and to decant it for younger vintages.
