Description
Pommard Rouge 2022 | Wine from Domaine Berthelemot
The Domaine Berthelemot, founded in 2006 by Brigitte Berthelemot, is inspired by family viticultural traditions and respect for the soil. Located in Meursault, this family-run estate cultivates 15 hectares in Côte de Beaune, covering prestigious appellations such as Meursault, Puligny-Montrachet, Chassagne-Montrachet, Pommard, and Beaune. Since the arrival of her son Thomas in 2017, the estate has gained new momentum. The wines, certified organic since 2021, reflect the estate's commitment to biodynamics and environmental respect.
The Pommard Rouge 2022 from Domaine Berthelemot comes from the lieux-dits Noizons and Petits Noizons, historically planted with walnut trees. Pommard has been renowned since the Middle Ages for its powerful and long-aging wines. The soils are brown, calcareous, and stony, with a red hue due to iron oxide. The plots, located between 290 and 320m altitude, cover 1ha 00a 27ca with an east and southeast exposure. Composed of 100% Pinot Noir, this wine is hand-harvested and aged in oak barrels. It offers a gourmet nose of small red fruits and violet, with supple tannins and an elegant, harmonious palate. Serve at 15-16°C, decanting recommended for young vintages.
