Aloxe-Corton Rouge 1er Cru 2022 | Wine from Domaine Chapuis Frères
Founded in 2009 by Romain and Jean-Guillaume Chapuis, two passionate brothers from a winemaking lineage established in Burgundy, the Domaine Chapuis Frères is located in Ladoix, not far from Pommard. With an environmentally respectful approach, the Chapuis adopt a low-intervention winemaking process, favoring indigenous yeasts and limiting the use of sulfur. Their wines, made from hand-harvested grapes, are distinguished by their aromatic freshness and ability to be enjoyed in their youth. The estate produces a range of wines including appellations such as Savigny-lès-Beaune, Chorey-lès-Beaune, and Pernand-Vergelesses, finely reflecting the Burgundian terroir.
The Aloxe-Corton Rouge 1er Cru 2022 is a wine from three plots located at the foot of the Corton hill, a terroir renowned for producing wines of great elegance. This 1er Cru stands out for its finesse and balance, far from the intense and masculine profiles often expected for this appellation. On the contrary, this vintage reveals delicate aromas of raspberry, cherry, and morello cherry, accompanied by floral notes such as peony and elderberry, as well as subtle touches of licorice. The winemaking was carried out with minimal intervention, allowing the Pinot Noir to express itself fully in all its purity. The year 2022 was marked by ideal weather conditions, offering a wine with silky tannins and perfect balance.
A wine to be enjoyed now, offering immediate drinkability while retaining the potential for aging for Burgundy grand cru enthusiasts.
