Domaine Dominique Derain is an iconic figure in biodynamic viticulture. Since 2016, Carole and Julien Altaber, loyal collaborators of Dominique, have taken over the estate while preserving its unique imprint. The "Derain touch" is based on a philosophy: allowing the terroirs to express themselves through environmentally respectful practices and wines with little to no sulfur. Dominique, although retired, continues to share his knowledge in Burgundy and beyond, collaborating with winemakers who share his vision.

The VDF Red "Dr'ain Dr'ain" 2019 is the result of a collaboration between Dominique Derain and the Tutti Frutti Ananas collective, consisting of renowned natural wine figures such as Manuel di Vecchi-Staraz, Zé Carvalho, and Joachim Roque. This rare and delicious cuvée is primarily composed of Grenache Noir, complemented by a touch of Syrah, from old vines grown on Mediterranean schist soils. The grapes are vinified as whole clusters before a gentle pressing and an eight-month aging in concrete vats, without filtration or fining.
