Joseph Colin, son of the famous vigneron Marc Colin, embodies the innovative spirit of the eponymous estate. After working on the family estate (Marc Colin), Joseph decided to go his own way. On 6.5 hectares, mainly inherited from the family heritage, Joseph cultivates 19 exceptional cuvées in Saint-Aubin, Chassagne-Montrachet, and Puligny-Montrachet. Freed from the constraints of a larger field, he favours an empirical approach in non-certified organic viticulture, while using biodynamic notions such as the observation of the moon and tides. Joseph distinguishes himself by his minimally interventionist vinification, avoiding sulphur until bottling. Its crystalline, energetic and pure wines express the Burgundian terroir with an immediate aromatic depth. Allergic to sulphur, he transcends this constraint by shortening the ageing process, offering wines marked by a natural freshness. The 2021 Puligny-Montrachet La Garenne embodies this philosophy, combining intensity, olfactory finesse, and nuanced minerality. The estate produces approximately 45,000 bottles per year, underscoring Joseph's commitment to artisanal quality. Constantly evolving, the Joseph Colin estate embodies the freedom of vigneron, revealing the authenticity of the Burgundian terroir with each vintage.
