Pernand-Vergelesses Rouge 1er Cru "Île des Vergelesses" 2020 | Wine from Domaine Chandon De Briailles
The Domaine Chandon de Briailles, founded in 1834 and located in Savigny-lès-Beaune in Burgundy, is a family-owned property renowned for its environmentally respectful management. Under the guidance of Claude and François de Nicolay, the estate turned to biodynamics in 2005, achieving certification in 2011. Spanning 14 hectares, the estate operates plots in Premier Cru and Grand Cru, including Aloxe-Corton and Corton-Charlemagne.
The estate is distinguished by natural winemaking practices: fermentation without added sulfites and bottling without filtration. The wines, aged with moderate use of new barrels (15%), preserve the authenticity and pure expression of the terroir.
The Pernand-Vergelesses Rouge 1er Cru "Île des Vergelesses" 2020 is a wine that reflects the estate's expertise and the richness of its terroir. Its vibrant garnet color reveals deep highlights. The bouquet is complex, blending ripe black fruits, tart cherries, and notes of blood oranges, enhanced by touches of mint and graphite.
On the palate, the wine seduces with its silky texture and vibrant energy. The minerality is pronounced, adding depth, while the acidity balances the black fruit aromas. This wine also presents a fine tannic structure, requiring a few years of aging to reach its full potential.
