The Domaine Chandon de Briailles, founded in 1834, is a family-owned property located in Savigny-lès-Beaune, Burgundy. It is managed by Claude and François de Nicolay, brother and sister, who uphold a nature-respecting approach by practicing biodynamic viticulture. The estate spans 14 hectares, including prestigious plots in Premier Cru and Grand Cru, notably in Aloxe-Corton and Corton-Charlemagne. Since 2005, the estate has shifted towards biodynamics, and certification was obtained in 2011.
François de Nicolay manages the vineyards and sales while Claude oversees the winemaking process with meticulous care: the Chardonnay is pressed with whole clusters and fermented in barrels, with a very moderate use of new wood (about 15%). The wines are bottled without filtration or added sulfites, thus preserving their natural and authentic character.
