The Domaine de Villaine, located in Bouzeron, in the heart of the Côte Chalonnaise, perpetuates an ancient wine tradition. Nestled between Santenay and Mercurey, this estate benefits from an exceptional terroir shaped by the monks of Cluny since the Middle Ages. Specializing in the Aligoté grape variety, the vines on hillsides at 270-350 meters above sea level benefit from limestone soils and a warm microclimate, ideal for optimal ripening of the grapes. The Bouzeron AOC, renowned for its small surface area and controlled yields, remains a little-known treasure of Burgundy.

The Bourgogne Côte-Chalonnaise red "La Digoine" 2022 from Domaine de Villaine comes from vines at the foot of the hillside with deep soil, ideal for fine Pinot Noir with moderate yields. From the first months after bottling, this wine seduces with its aromas of small red fruits, its balance between roundness and firmness, and its length on the palate. When mature, after 18 to 24 months, it develops deep and complex aromas worthy of a great Burgundy, with an aging potential of 12 to 15 years. Young, serve it at 16°C with red meats and mature cheeses; older, at 18°C. This wine, serious and straight on the nose, offers a frank fruitiness on the palate with silky tannins, a saline sensation and great digestibility.
