Description
Vosne-Romanée Premier Cru Red "Les Malconsorts" 2021 | Wine from the Clos Frantin estate of the Albert Bichot house
Founded in 1831, the Albert Bichot House is an institution of Burgundy viticulture, located in Beaune. For several generations, it has embodied excellence and respect for the terroirs of Burgundy. Under the direction of Albéric Bichot, the estate has moved towards sustainable and organic viticulture, preserving the natural balance of the soils. The Clos Frantin Estate, the flagship of the house, is renowned for its exceptional wines, particularly the Grands Crus and Premiers Crus of the Côte de Nuits.
The Vosne-Romanée Premier Cru "Les Malconsorts" 2021 comes from a 1.76 ha vineyard, located near legendary plots such as Romanée-Conti and La Tâche. This exceptional terroir is composed of limestone soils that give the wine a unique structure and elegance. The vines, aged 35 to 40 years, benefit from optimal sunlight, producing a Pinot Noir of great finesse. The winemaking is traditional, with manual harvesting, rigorous sorting, and fermentation in wooden vats followed by aging in oak barrels for 16 to 17 months.
This Vosne-Romanée Premier Cru 2021 offers a rich and complex aromatic bouquet. It features notes of red and black fruits such as cherry, raspberry, and blackcurrant, subtly blended with fine woodiness and touches of spices. On the palate, the texture is smooth, with elegant tannins and a remarkable length. This wine offers great persistence, combining power and delicacy.
Ideal with finely cooked meats, such as tournedos Rossini, roast lamb, game (venison, pheasant), duck, as well as moderately aged cheeses like Reblochon or Tomme.
