Mercurey Blanc "La Brigadière" 2021 | Wine of the Domaine François Raquillet

François Raquillet's 2021 Mercurey "La Brigadière" is a precise and racy wine, expressing finesse rather than exuberance. Its aromas evolve over time, offering notes of dried fruit, citrus, white flowers and acacia. Made from Chardonnay, it comes from a plot exposed to the west and sud-ouest, with vines that are on average 25 years old. Its 12-month ageing in 400-litre barrels gives it a taut and straight mouthfeel, which opens and persists over time. The marl-limestone soil, covered with scree pebbles, contributes to its complexity. This wine can be enjoyed after a few months in the bottle and can be kept for up to 6 to 7 years. Ideally served at 14°C, it is a wine that reflects the terroir and the know-how of François Raquillet.
