Description
Pouilly-Vinzelles Blanc "Les Quarts" 2021 | Wine from Domaine la Soufrandière
The Domaine La Soufrandière, founded in 1947 and located in Vinzelles in the Mâconnais region in southern Burgundy, is a family-owned property taken over by the Bret Brothers in 2000. Committed from the start to environmentally friendly viticulture, they converted the estate to Organic and Biodynamic Agriculture, a practice certified since 2006. The vineyard, made up of vines aged 33 to 80 years, is planted on clay-limestone soil that is 180 million years old, giving the wines a strong expression of the terroir.
The Pouilly-Vinzelles Blanc "Les Quarts" 2021 is produced from a 2-hectare plot, considered one of the most prestigious in the appellation. This cuvée comes from old Chardonnay vines (45 to 80 years old) planted on soils rich in red clay and limestone, located on slopes with an optimal southeast exposure. This unique terroir allows for the production of wines that are both complex and balanced, with great aging potential.
This wine is distinguished by a fresh and lemony nose, supported by a beautiful minerality. On the palate, it reveals a creamy texture with aromas of white fruits and citrus, accompanied by subtle spicy and licorice notes. Its length on the palate reflects a beautiful complexity and potential for evolution. This Pouilly-Vinzelles 2021 is an aging wine that will reach its peak after a few years of aging, but can already be enjoyed for its elegance and freshness.
This wine pairs wonderfully with roasted poultry such as chicken or guinea fowl, fish stew or fish in sauce, seafood-based dishes like scallops, as well as an apple tart or tarte Tatin for a delicious sweet and savory touch.
