The Domaine Julien Pilon, located in the Northern Rhône Valley, is renowned for its precise and balanced white wines. The Saint-Péray Blanc "Les Maisons De Victor" 2022 cuvée comes from three distinct plots located in the commune of Saint-Péray. The first are situated on the lower slopes with a Northeast exposure, while the others benefit from a Southeast exposure on soils of Rhône alluvium, rolled pebbles, and granitic sand. This diversity offers remarkable complexity to the final blend.
The grapes are harvested manually and then vinified separately. After gentle pressing, the juices undergo severe settling before undergoing a slow fermentation at low temperature and a complete malolactic fermentation. The wine is then aged for 10 months in barrels, including 15% new wood.
The brilliant golden robe immediately catches the eye. The nose reveals a beautiful aromatic richness, dominated by ripe yellow fruit aromas such as apricot and peach, accompanied by delicate woody notes. On the palate, the balance between the generous richness and controlled tension brings remarkable elegance. The finish, persistent and slightly woody, suggests an excellent aging potential.
