Description
Saint-Péray Blanc "Les Maisons De Victor" 2022 | Wine from Domaine Julien Pilon
The Domaine Julien Pilon, located in the Northern Rhône Valley, is renowned for its precise and balanced white wines. Julien Pilon, passionate about local white grape varieties, skillfully expresses the terroirs of Saint-Péray through authentic and elegant vintages. Each plot is carefully tended to ensure a faithful expression of the terroir, where Marsanne and Roussanne reveal their unique character.
The Saint-Péray Blanc "Les Maisons De Victor" 2022 cuvée comes from three distinct plots located in the commune of Saint-Péray. The first are situated on the lower slopes with a Northeast exposure, while the others benefit from a Southeast exposure on soils of Rhône alluvium, rolled pebbles, and granitic sand. This diversity offers remarkable complexity to the final blend.
The grapes are harvested manually and then vinified separately. After gentle pressing, the juices undergo severe settling before undergoing a slow fermentation at low temperature and a complete malolactic fermentation. The wine is then aged for 10 months in barrels, including 15% new wood.
The brilliant golden robe immediately catches the eye. The nose reveals a beautiful aromatic richness, dominated by ripe yellow fruit aromas such as apricot and peach, accompanied by delicate woody notes. On the palate, the balance between the generous richness and controlled tension brings remarkable elegance. The finish, persistent and slightly woody, suggests an excellent aging potential.
The Saint-Péray Blanc "Les Maisons De Victor" 2022 is the ideal companion for refined appetizers, pan-seared foie gras, noble crustaceans such as lobster or langoustines, as well as grilled or sauced fatty fish. It also pairs perfectly with creamed poultry or a wild mushroom risotto.
