Anjou Blanc 2022 | Wine from Domaine Boudignon Thibaud

The Domaine Thibaud Boudignon is located in Anjou-Saumur, at the heart of the Loire Valley. After honing his skills in renowned wine regions such as Bordeaux and Burgundy, Thibaud Boudignon founded his own estate in 2008. His viticulture is based on organic and biodynamic practices, although it is not certified. His rigorous approach and talent have earned him a solid reputation in the world of Loire wines, particularly with low yields and high-quality production.

The Anjou Blanc 2022 is a 100% Chenin Blanc white wine, an iconic grape variety of the Loire. The vines have been planted since the 1980s on plots with shallow soils composed of gray schist and rhyolite, at a density of 8000 vines per hectare. This wine is meticulously crafted: the grapes are fermented in stainless steel tanks with indigenous yeasts, then the wine is aged in 300 and 750 L barrels (30% of which are new barrels) for 15 to 18 months. The result is a wine of crystalline purity, true to the Boudignon style, with beautiful maturity and vibrant energy.

The nose reveals intense aromas of white fruits, with mineral nuances characteristic of schist soils. On the palate, the Anjou Blanc 2022 offers a fresh attack, followed by a lovely roundness. It presents an immediate indulgence with a silky texture, balanced by perfectly controlled acidity. Its subtle minerality and long finish make it an elegant and irresistible wine.
