Description
The Domaine Jacques Carillon is one of the oldest estates in Puligny-Montrachet, rooted in a winemaking tradition dating back to 1520 with Jehan Carillon. Today, Jacques Carillon and his wife Sylvia continue this family tradition by carefully cultivating 5 hectares of vines located in the best climates of Puligny-Montrachet. The estate is renowned for its highly refined white wines, exclusively produced from the family vines.
The estate is located in the heart of the Côte des Blancs, a prestigious region of the Burgundy vineyard, between Meursault and Chassagne-Montrachet. The uniqueness of this region lies in its brown limestone and clay-limestone marl soils, which give the wines their unique character. For Jacques Carillon, the art of wine is a matter of memory, of the land, and of the people.
Wine Presentation:
The Puligny-Montrachet Blanc 2022 is a wine made from the Chardonnay grape variety, typical of the region. The vines, averaging 40 years old, produce high-quality grapes that are carefully vinified to reveal the best of the terroir. The wine is aged in oak barrels for 12 months, with a controlled use of new barrels (15%), followed by 6 months in stainless steel tanks. This aging method gives the wine a subtle balance between finesse and structure.
Bottling takes place after 18 months of aging, with light filtration to preserve all the aromatic purity of the wine. It is recommended to enjoy this Puligny-Montrachet between 3 and 6 years after bottling, to fully appreciate its aromatic expression and complexity.
Tasting Notes:
