Description

White Wine Pouilly-Vinzelles "Les Quarts" 2021 Domaine la Soufrandière

Domaine La Soufrandière is located in Vinzelles, in the south of Burgundy in the Mâconnais, founded by the paternal grandfather in 1947. All the vines are between 33 and 80 years old and are located, east, south-east, in the middle and top of the hillside, made of very red clay and limestone known as "entroques", dating back more than 180 million years. The choice of soil life and natural rhythms: The "Bret Brothers" have chosen Organic and Biodynamic Agriculture since taking over the estate in 2000. This life-friendly agriculture, which does not use any herbicides or synthetic pesticides, seems to them to be the way to produce balanced, vibrant wines that reveal their terroir. The Domaine has been certified organic and biodynamic since 2006 (official conversion in 2003).

This 2021 Pouilly-Vinzelles "Les Quarts" from Domaine La Soufrandière comes from a 2ha plot, a terroir considered by many to be the largest in Pouilly-Vinzelles. The soil is supple, airy, fragrant and liquorice. She lives. The terroir is there, tout simplement. The almost magical exposure (on the south-east slope) of the estate's oldest Chardonnay vines, aged between 45 and 80 years, and the living clay-limestone soil (Bajocian rich in siliceous crystals) give rise to wines that can be aged. When tasted, it offers a lemony and mineral nose, a nice balance with complexity and length in the mouth. To be left to evolve between 5 and 10 years before enjoying it with charcuterie, roast poultry, fish blanquette or apple pie...
