Description
This manual, unique in its kind, explains how to prune the vine using the Guyot method, applying the Simonit & Sirch Method, named after its creators. With over twenty years of study and practical application in vineyards in Italy and Europe, the Method is offered to everyone - whether professionals or simple enthusiasts - with the strength of its principles: intervening with respect for the vine and doing so according to a codified and simple method. The shears must be used with an awareness of the effects they have on the plant.
From the formation of the foot to that of the trunk, from setting up the branching to controlling it, from converting vineyards to reconstructing damaged plants: all scenarios always take into consideration the plant's condition, its age, and the season in which one is operating.
The manual is highly practical: after a brief introductory theoretical section, there are chapters dedicated to explaining the Method, where the text is accompanied by over 400 explanatory images, the true heart of the book. The numerous internal references and summaries at the end of each chapter help the pruner at every step, guiding them securely to the next phase. Because, according to Marco Simonit, everyone can become knowledgeable pruners in no time!
