Description
The main objective of this book is to clearly and concretely expose the "key points" of quality viticulture, trying to avoid extensive descriptions, which are so common in classic viticulture texts, about the different factors that influence grape production, as if all of them were equally important in determining grape quality. Essentially, it aims to provide a useful and practical tool for both technicians and viticulturists to determine, at the plot level and in a simple way, whether the vineyard meets the conditions for producing the highest quality grapes. It also describes the new viticultural techniques available to achieve these optimal production conditions. The author is a Viticulturist, Doctor of Agricultural Engineering, and Professor of Viticulture at the University of La Rioja. Among his awards and distinctions are the International Viticulture Awards granted by the International Organisation of Vine and Wine in the years 1986, 1991, and 2003.
