Description
Superb full-color facsimile of a rare 1898 book. It is a presentation and popularization book about geology written in a very clear style by a prominent scientist of the time. Geology becomes much less dry with very beautiful full-color illustrations of landscapes and rocks. Stanislas Meunier (1843-1925), a geologist with a Ph.D. in science, was notably a geology professor at the National Museum of Natural History. He has an extensive scientific and popular bibliography. The illustrations of stones and rocks are particularly attractive. Preface by Eric Buffetaut, a renowned paleontologist, research director at CNRS, who will describe the state of geology in 2017.
