The decline in soil fertility, overgrazing, vegetation fires, and deforestation are among the scourges affecting the agropastoral land in the Sudano-Sahelian region of Africa. To reverse this trend of degradation, agroecological techniques are recommended, including anti-erosion measures, agroforestry systems, and cultivation on vegetative cover. The ultimate goal is to achieve better soil management for satisfactory, sustainable, and environmentally friendly agricultural productivity.
