Description
Roulot Apricot Liqueur | Domaine Jean-Marc Roulot Liqueur
The Domaine Jean-Marc Roulot, located in Meursault in Burgundy, is an essential reference in the wine world. Led by Jean-Marc Roulot since 1989, this estate combines tradition, innovation, and a deep commitment to respecting the terroir. Known primarily for its exceptional Meursaults, the estate also stands out for its production of artisan liqueurs and eaux-de-vie. Although the vineyards have been cultivated using organic farming methods since the 90s, no certification has been sought, preferring an authentic and discreet commitment.
The Roulot Apricot Liqueur is produced with organic Bergeron apricots from the orchards of Laurent Combier in the Rhône Valley. After being harvested at perfect ripeness, the apricots are pitted by hand and immediately placed in maceration in a neutral alcohol to preserve their natural aromas. The maceration lasts several months, allowing the fruits to fully release their fruity and tangy notes.
With an alcohol content of 25% and a controlled sugar level (160 g/liter), this liqueur offers a beautiful aromatic intensity, balanced by a tangy freshness that enhances the natural character of the fruit.
- Color: Golden and luminous, evoking the ripe flesh of a sunlit apricot.
- Nose: Intense and expressive, revealing notes of ripe apricot, white flowers, and a subtle honeyed touch.
- Palate: Rich and velvety, the liqueur offers an explosion of fruity flavors. The natural acidity of the apricot perfectly balances the light sweetness of the sugar, while a slightly tangy final note provides a lovely freshness on the palate.
- Finish: Long and persistent, with a delicate sweet and fruity touch that invites another sip.
The Roulot Apricot Liqueur is ideal for accompanying a variety of desserts and can also be enjoyed pure or in a refined cocktail.
It pairs perfectly with an apricot sorbet, where its natural aromas will intensify the flavor of the frozen fruit.
In pastry, it will enhance a thin caramelized apricot tart or an apricot clafoutis, adding a delicate aromatic depth.
For a more sophisticated experience, it wonderfully complements a fresh cheese with honey, creating an irresistible sweet and fruity combination.
In a cocktail, it can be paired with a brut Burgundy crémant, forming a festive and elegant drink, or used in an iced aperitif, extended with a light tonic and a fresh mint leaf.
Serving Tips:
Serve this liqueur well chilled, around 8-10°C, to fully appreciate its delicate aromas and the balance between sweetness and freshness.
It can be enjoyed pure, in a cocktail, or even delicately poured over a scoop of apricot sorbet for an extra gourmet touch.
