Description
VdF Roussteau Rouge 2022 | Wine from Domaine Crotet Maxime
The Domaine Maxime Crotet was born from the passion of a young Burgundian winemaker, Maxime Crotet, who honed his skills under Frédéric Cossard, an emblematic figure of Saint Romain. For a decade, Maxime learned the techniques of organic viticulture and natural winemaking. In 2021, he took a new step by acquiring his own winery in Beaune, while also venturing into trading. His goal is to work with grapes from winemakers who share his values: respect for the environment and biodiversity.
The Domaine Maxime Crotet stands out for its respectful approach, both in the choice of grapes and in winemaking practices. Maxime favors organic viticulture, which protects the soil and biodiversity. In the cellar, vinifications are done with minimal interventions and inputs. The process is natural, allowing the wines to fully express their terroir. For his reds, fermentation takes place in tanks before aging in barrels, providing subtle micro-oxygenation that refines the aromas.
This VDF Roussteau Rouge 2022 is a natural wine that perfectly reflects Maxime Crotet's approach: meticulous work, carefully selected grapes harvested in Poligny, and respectful winemaking. Vin de France, the grapes come from Poligny in the Jura, a region Maxime chose for the quality of its grapes and to express his own wine identity.
This 2022 vintage marks a new stage for Maxime, who successfully took advantage of the best climatic conditions to produce a highly drinkable wine. On the palate, the Roussteau Rouge reveals aromas of fresh red fruits, with beautiful complexity and a balanced structure. Its alcohol content of 13.5% provides just the right amount of power to accompany a wide range of dishes.
