VDF Red "Les Hâtes" 2023 | Wine from Domaine Raphaëlle Guyot
The Domaine Raphaëlle Guyot is a young winery located in Puisaye-Forterre, a region in the heart of Yonne, in Burgundy. Founded by Raphaëlle Guyot, a passionate winemaker, the estate is the result of a bold vision to revive a vanished vineyard. Since 2018, she has undertaken the replanting of abandoned slopes, cultivating vines according to the strict principles of organic farming. Raphaëlle is committed to creating a resilient wine-growing system in the face of the challenges of climate change, promoting biodiversity through the planting of trees and an optimal planting density of 4500 vines/ha.
The Vin de Pays de l'Yonne red "Les Hâtes" 2023 is a vintage made from 100% Pinot Noir, the emblematic grape variety of Burgundy. The vines, planted in 2002 in Lain, benefit from a unique terroir that gives rise to a wine of great elegance. The winemaking skillfully combines whole clusters and destemmed grapes, followed by 6 months of aging in barrels. The result is a wine that charms with its natural freshness, purity, and aromatic complexity.
This 2023 vintage features a brilliant ruby color and subtle aromas of fresh red fruits, such as cherry and raspberry, enhanced by delicate touches of spices and a hint of oak. On the palate, the wine reveals a silky structure with fine tannins and a long, elegant finish marked by a beautiful minerality.
The Vin de Pays de l'Yonne red "Les Hâtes" 2023 will wonderfully accompany grilled white meats, roast chickens, or dishes based on grilled vegetables. For a more sophisticated experience, it will enhance a veal filet or poultry with mushrooms. In terms of cheese, it pairs perfectly with a Brie de Meaux or a slightly aged Époisses.
