Santenay Rouge 1er cru "Clos des Mouches" 2022 | Wine from Domaine Lucien Muzard & Fils
The Santenay Rouge 1er Cru "Clos des Mouches" 2022 is made from vines planted in the 1980s, carefully maintained and hand-harvested. Situated on a hillside with a southern exposure, this vineyard benefits from a shallow limestone soil that imparts the wine with its minerality and unique structure. The vinification uses indigenous yeasts and includes 30% whole cluster fermentation to preserve the authenticity of the fruit.
The Santenay Rouge "Clos des Mouches" 2022 reveals intense aromas of ripe red fruits, black cherries, and subtle spicy notes. On the palate, it presents a beautiful complexity with fine tannins and a long, silky finish. Aging in Burgundian barrels, 15% of which are new, enriches its aromatic palette while respecting the freshness of the Pinot Noir.
This wine pairs ideally with dishes such as coq au vin, duck breast, or aged cheeses like truffle brie. It can also enhance lighter dishes such as a roasted veal fillet or wild mushrooms.
