Description
Saint-Romain Rouge "Sous Roche" 2020 | Wine from Domaine Henri & Gilles Buisson
The Domaine Henri & Gilles Buisson is a reference in Saint-Romain, a wine-growing village in the heart of the Côte de Beaune. Founded in 1947 by Henri Buisson, a pioneer of independent viticulture, the estate is now managed by his grandsons Franck and Frédérick Buisson. Certified organic since 2009, the estate is committed to biodynamic viticulture, respecting the vine and the environment. Since its inception, the estate has evolved while remaining true to its roots and its exceptional terroir.
The Saint-Romain Rouge "Sous Roche" 2020 comes from old Pinot Noir vines planted on limestone soil, at an altitude of 300 meters, giving it a beautiful freshness and marked minerality. The 60-year-old vines benefit from the exposure and warm currents that rise through the valley, bringing a unique complexity to this wine. This 2020 vintage is the result of careful winemaking, respecting the principles of biodynamics, to offer an authentic and expressive wine.
The Saint-Romain "Sous Roche" 2020 is characterized by its generous aromas of fresh red fruits such as cherry and raspberry. On the palate, it reveals great depth, with supple tannins and a persistent finish. This wine also presents a subtle spicy touch, which develops further with age. Its fresh and slightly mineral character makes it an aging wine, capable of evolving favorably over several years.
The Saint-Romain Rouge "Sous Roche" will perfectly accompany white meats like roasted poultry, as well as richer dishes like beef bourguignon. It also pairs very well with soft cheeses such as brie or camembert.
