Description
Pommard Red Wine ''Les Cras'' 2021 Domaine Michel Bouzereau & Fils
The Bouzereau family has been cultivating the vines in Meursault for 7 generations, Michel handed over the reins to his son Jean-Baptiste in 1999 and the succession is announced with Paul, but the credo remains the same: no good wine without a high quality of grapes from there, everything is done to obtain a healthy and tasty fruit. Soil cultivation, short pruning, severe disbudding and the use of the most natural products are advantages for this. All the harvests are done by hand to respect the grapes as much as possible. The whites are slowly pressed and put into barrels the next day, the malolactic fermentation completed, they will remain on the lees until the next harvest and they will finish their ageing in barrels or vats depending on the appellation. The reds are destemmed and undergo cold maceration before fermentation without yeast and aged in oak barrels for 12 to 16 months.
This Pommard '' Les Cras'' 2021 from Domaine Michel Bouzereau & Fils comes from a gently sloping climate looking south, the soil of this plot is gravelly with red clays of good quality typical of Pommard. This gives us a Pur Pommard with a strong character, the nose is full of red and black fruits, spices, floral notes and smokyness. The palate is full-bodied, well-structured and offers a nice power in a velvety texture with fine tannins.
Serve this lord of the Côte de Beaune with a dish in sauce (beef bourguignon, coq au vin), a platter of mature cheeses...
