The circulation of wines and derived beverages among the countries of the European Community makes it essential to adopt common analysis methods with a dual objective:
1st To determine the composition of wines and derived beverages by identical methods in all countries.
2nd To determine if there have been frauds and violations in the treatment of such products.
The approved methods are the most suitable and their use is mandatory in the commercial transaction control operations in the wine sector. These are effective, repeatable, and comparable methods, prepared taking into account the latest scientific advances. Our wines must meet the quality standards of the community. Therefore, it is necessary to analyze and control our wines using the same methods employed in France, Portugal, Italy, Germany, etc.
In this book, we will present the official community analysis methods for wines, as published in the OFFICIAL JOURNAL OF THE EUROPEAN COMMUNITIES and included in the REGULATION OF COMMUNITY ANALYSIS APPLICABLE IN THE WINE SECTOR.
It is essential that our wineries and laboratories get used to using these analysis methods, which, in addition to being the most precise and comprehensive, are the ones required in the European Union and will likely serve as a guide to the rest of the world.
