Chemical fertilizers, pesticides, sulfur, heavy metals, ammonia, fish glue, horse blood, powdered tannins, preservatives, artificial flavors, and various acids... If winemakers were required to explain on their labels how they make their wines, many, including some of the most famous ones, would have already gone bankrupt. Switching to organic or natural wines means looking for wines that are less technological or standardized, often better tasting and better for our health. It is also about influencing a major societal choice, as the French vineyards are in great danger due to the abusive use of chemicals and cloning. Ultimately, it is about defending a humanistic vision of our relationship with the land and a viticultural tradition that is more than a millennium old.
