Description
Iconic grape variety of Languedoc and Roussillon, known since Antiquity in the Mediterranean, the Muscat à petits grains has been carried by its flagship product, the sweet fortified wine. This work evokes this historic wine, originating from a renowned region between Sète and Montpellier, with such great notoriety that it influences other productions of Languedoc. In the era of globalization, this grape with its early and delicate golden clusters, with powerful aromas, is exploring new paths. The introduction of advanced techniques or organic, even natural, farming practices opens up new tastes and sensations. They breathe a rejuvenating air into this exceptional wine heritage, revealing its full splendor: sweet, dry, mellow, rosé, sparkling... a grape with millennial roots deeply intertwined with contemporary challenges. Florence Monferran, historian and researcher with a degree from the University Jean-Jaurès in Toulouse, now a winemaker near Montpellier, has been dedicated for about ten years to highlighting the excellence of white wine productions in Languedoc. Gérard Bertrand, a significant figure in French viticulture, pens the foreword of this work.
