Description

Useful reading and feasting your taste buds! Or how, by purchasing a book designed by the Franco-Venezuelan Association Femmes de Cacao®, you can help achieve its objectives: to educate, train, raise awareness, allow people from disadvantaged backgrounds in Latin America, women in particular, to access autonomy through cocoa-related professions...

This book was self-financed thanks to the support of many contributors to l'association Women of Cocoa® created in 2017 by Veruska and Grace Pochon, a mother and daughter of Venezuelan origin determined to improve living conditions there, especially for women, by bringing them closer to the cocoa sector and offering them opportunities for material autonomy in other Latin American countries.

This book is both pleasant to handle, aesthetic and fun, and allows the gourmet reader to acquire or refresh his elementary knowledge about cocoa, its history, its nature and its origin, as well as about the process of transforming beans into chocolate. It is also distinguished by the fact that it is written in French and Spanish, which reinforces its collective and transcontinental dimension, and provides information specific to the sector in Venezuela.

The layout of the book is clear, colourful and graphic, alternating drawings and photographs to make its reading both educational and gourmet. In addition, it offers a variety of mouth-watering recipes, provided spontaneously by pastry chefs, chocolatiers, chefs and other friends, sweet and savory, accompanied by superb photographs taken by l'association's referent ami, Pascal Rabot.

In addition, l'association Women of Cocoa® highlights the portraits of women and men in Venezuela who are planters, producers, researchers, scientists and journalists. It also celebrates an association created to carry out self-entrepreneurship projects related to cocoa. Finally, a Special Mention is given to Mr. Bovetti for his partnership with l'association and its founders, based on shared values and fundamental simplicity.
