Description
Champagne Blanc de Noirs Extra-Brut "Ullens cuvée L.P.M" Domaine de Marzilly
The Domaine de Marzilly is nestled in the heart of the eponymous village, in the northernmost region of Champagne. Founded by the passionate Maxime Ullens, this family estate produces champagnes full of character, respecting traditions and local biodiversity. The adventure began in 2012, when Maxime and his father acquired the ruins of the Château de Marzilly, a 12th-century building that had been abandoned. Guided by soil analyses and local archives, they rediscover the wine-growing history of Marzilly. Inspired by the rich terroirs of the massif and the traditional methods of Champagne winemaking, Maxime Ullens abandoned his renovation work in Belgium to create the domaine de marzilly and its famous Ullens champagne. A story of passion and preservation of the Champagne heritage.
The Champagne Extra-Brut "Ullens cuvée L.PM" of the Domaine de Marzilly or cuvée "La Petite Montagne", is a 100% Pinot Meunier straight from the terroirs of the small mountain of Reims in the Saint-Thierry massif, the northernmost of the Champagne region. The vinification is carried out according to the traditional method with fermentation and then ageing on lees in oak barrels for 11 months and then aged for 18 months in the cellar. No filtration is carried out and is only dosed at 2.8g/L giving it the Extra-Brut label. This cuvée is a tribute to Pinot Meunier by Maxime Ullens, a jewel to discover for Champagne lovers.
