The Domaine Chappaz, located in Charrat in the Valais region of Switzerland, is led by renowned winemaker Marie-Thérèse Chappaz. Originally on a different career path, Marie-Thérèse took over the family vineyards at 17 and trained in viticulture and oenology at Changins. She built her reputation by creating exceptional wines that respect the nature and terroir.

In 1997, after visiting the Domaine Chapoutier in France, Marie-Thérèse decided to convert her vineyards to biodynamics. Today, the Domaine Chappaz is fully certified by Demeter and Bio-bourgeon Suisse. For Marie-Thérèse, biodynamics is not just a farming method but a philosophy that enhances the living elements of the vineyard.

The estate gained international recognition in 2020 when the Grain par Grain Petite Arvine received 100 points from Robert Parker, a first for a Swiss wine. Marie-Thérèse was also named Swiss Winemaker of the Year 2021 by the Swiss German Sommeliers' Association and has received numerous accolades throughout her career, including the prestigious "Lady of Wine" award in 2015.

The wines of Domaine Chappaz reflect a passionate commitment to quality, respect for nature, and pure expression of terroir. Each vintage is a testament to Marie-Thérèse’s dedication, establishing her as an icon of Swiss winemaking.
