List of products by brand Chapuis Frères
Coming from a family rooted for generations in the production of Burgundy wines, more precisely in Aloxe-Corton, brothers Romain and Jean-Guillaume Chapuis founded their own estate, naturally named "Chapuis Frères", at the end of 2009. By establishing their winery in Pommard, they inaugurated their production with lesser-known appellations that offer undeniable value for money such as Savigny les Beaune, Chorey les Beaune and Pernand-Vergelesses. With about 4 hectares of vines in their own right, they complete their range thanks to the purchase of grapes, often certified organic. Following the success of their wines, the two brothers moved their winery to Ladoix, where they set up a new vat room and ageing cellar.
Romain Chapuis, in charge of winemaking, has solid technical experience acquired abroad and with Philippe Pacalet. His approach to the winery is pragmatic and devoid of dogma. Whether it is a vinification with or without sulphur, interventionist or not, Romain adapts to each vintage and to the specific quality of the grapes. Overall, the winery's philosophy is low-interventionist, with reduced use of sulphur and limited extractions for red and white wines. The use of oak barrels is also restricted. In all cases, the grapes are harvested manually, rigorously sorted and fermented with indigenous yeasts.
The wines are distinguished from their youth by their remarkable aromatic freshness, without ever showing any heaviness despite the hot vintages in Burgundy in recent years. We particularly appreciate the greedy, expressive and lively character of each cuvée. With great drinkability, these wines are to be discovered without the need to wait a long ageing period.
