Description

Magnum Nuits-Saint-Georges Red 1er Cru "Aux Chaignots" 2019 | Wine from Domaine Philippe Pacalet

The Domaine Philippe Pacalet, founded by a passionate artisan and nephew of the famous Marcel Lapierre, embodies the excellence of natural wines. A true pioneer, Philippe Pacalet favors non-interventionist methods to reveal the purity of Burgundy's terroirs. He vinifies each plot using massal selection, respecting biodiversity and winemaking traditions. The estate works on 15 carefully selected hectares to produce about 50,000 bottles per year, combining balance, finesse, and aging potential.

The Magnum Nuits-Saint-Georges Red 1er Cru "Aux Chaignots" 2019 comes from a unique terroir located at the top of the hillside. This climate, composed of clay-limestone soils scattered with stones, promotes a mineral expression of the Pinot Noir grape variety. The winemaking, done with whole grape clusters, uses indigenous yeasts without unnecessary mechanical or chemical intervention. After 17 months of aging on lees, this wine reveals a refined character and unparalleled depth.

This premier cru from Burgundy captivates with its structure and elegance. On the nose, aromas of red fruits (cherry, wild strawberry) intertwine with hints of sweet spices and undergrowth. On the palate, the wine is finely balanced, with a velvety texture and beautiful minerality. Its long and complex finish highlights its incredible aging potential.

This Magnum pairs perfectly with gastronomic dishes such as venison stew or roast pheasant among the game meats, beef Wellington or grilled veal chop for red meats, sauced dishes like coq au vin or braised beef cheek, as well as aged cheeses like Époisses or Livarot.
