Description
Florence Monferran invites us to journey through the world of wines and grape varieties, pioneering organic practices rooted in a constantly evolving history. She explores the concept of wine and time in various aspects (historical time, meteorological time, taking one's time, experiencing the acceleration of climate events). Her insights shed light on the evolution of viticulture through chronicles published day by day, intimately connected to the living world.
Amid crucial challenges, the age-old tradition of our viticulture and the continuity of practices through the centuries endow us with a responsibility: to seek paths towards a possible future for the generations that follow us, by the year 2030.
Florence Monferran is a historian, a research graduate from Jean-Jaurès University in Toulouse. Her work illuminates ancient terroirs and resurfaced heritages. She is also a columnist for various media outlets, including the online magazine Le Point. As a winemaker, she breathes new life into small plots of muscat grapes, using natural production methods, near Montpellier.
