Description
The Victory of Wine is the story from 1985 to today that explains how wine has become an international must-have, an almost universal cultural marker, a vector of culture, globally recognized, appreciated, and sought after.
The geography of this story spans the New World, from New Zealand to Chile, and soon the New New World from China to Brazil, under the watchful and somewhat anxious eye of the Old World, that of France, Italy, and Spain.
The characters are the flying winemakers, the organic activists, the curious millennials, the passionate investors with yen, yuan, or dollars.
The threats looming over this world are climate change, surprising counterfeits, and quasi-religious technical disputes.
Happy ending?
At the very least, a fantastic bubbling that makes wine a universal character, with its new story in the 21st century just beginning.
