Description
Côte-de-Beaune Blanc "Clos de la Grande Châtelaine" 2023 | Wine from Domaine Jean Claude Rateau
The Domaine Jean Claude Rateau, founded in 1979, is a pioneer of biodynamic viticulture in Burgundy. Jean Claude Rateau started with 2 hectares of family vineyards, gradually expanding his estate to 8 hectares thanks to the trust of various owners. Committed from the start to environmentally friendly viticulture, he has been adopting biodynamic practices for 30 years, certified organic by Ecocert. With 15 plots on 12 terroirs, he vinifies each lot to produce expressive wines that offer immediate pleasure right from bottling.
The Côte-de-Beaune Blanc "Clos de la Grande Châtelaine" 2023 from Domaine Jean Claude Rateau is a white wine made from old vines of Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Beurot, and Pinot Gris, cultivated biodynamically on clay-limestone soil. Manual harvesting and fermentations with indigenous yeasts ensure authenticity. Aged in oak barrels of various wines, it presents a powerful and complex nose with notes of brioche, butter, acacia flowers, toast, and gunflint. On the palate, it is voluptuous with a long, mineral finish. Perfect to enjoy within 10 years, accompanied by fish, poultry, or cheese.
